PRO BASKETBALL — May 16
Game 6 — Eastern Conference Playoffs
BOSTON (+2.5) at CLEVELAND (Total 179) — We could almost write the same preview we did for the other games Cleveland has hosted, and the other games the Celtics have played on the road during this playoff season. Boston just has not performed at all when traveling during the post-season, which is kind of astounding because this team managed to win 27 road games in the regular season schedule. Yet it’s the Cavs, who won just 18 road games, who have experienced two winnable contests at the TD Banknorth Garden. LeBron James is not scoring as much as he’s used to, but the Cavs are making adjustments to take advantage of his passing. Of course, not having thre outside shooting of Daniel Gibson (separated shoulder) is a hinderance, but it does not make the difference. Cleveland has improved its marksmanship over the last three games (54%, followed by 45.5% and 44.6%), which gives us enough confidence with the group that has actually had more playoff success playing together.
